At this time my MacBook was no longer supported with MacOS updates either, and I was frustrated! I purchased a Samsung Note 2, which I wanted to love, but the integration of the SPen stylus was only with Samsung apps meant I never really used the SPen. I happily used this device until it was no longer supported by Apple. On the mobile side, I was a Nokia user until 2009, when I adopted the iPhone 3G. It all comes down to the way Microsoft dismantled their quality control. Windows 10 would end up being the straw that broke the camel’s back, surprisingly. In 2018 I considering buying a Dell XPS13 loaded with Ubuntu Linux, but went ahead with the Windows 10 version. I also had a desktop PC at this time that I was using for graduate school work (engineering CAD tools) in 2013-2017, and this basically cemented my switch back to Microsoft. In 2013 I bought a refurbished Asus* PC with Windows 7, and found it did the job, and decided to stick with Windows. In this time frame I bought a second MacBook in 2008, and I used it happily until Apple stopped offering updates. I left Windows 2000 to move to Mac OS X 10.4 on a PowerPC MacBook! While I had to give up PC games and CAD tools, I never really regretted the move for home use. I was primarily a MacOS user at home from 2003 to about 2013.
